Therapeutic Approaches I use

At Outlook Psychology, therapy is tailored to each individual’s needs, goals, and life context.

I work collaboratively with clients, using evidence-based approaches to support meaningful and lasting change.

Clinical Hypnosis

Susan has post-graduate training in clinical hypnosis for psychologists. Hypnosis is a natural, safe and effective therapeutic approach that can be used alongside other therapies. It may assist with:

  • Self-esteem
  • Anxiety, including social anxiety
  • Stress
  • Anger
  • Pain management
  • Stop smoking
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps identify and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns that contribute to distress. It focuses on developing practical strategies to manage emotions, behaviours, and everyday challenges.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT supports clients to better manage difficult thoughts and emotions while building a meaningful life aligned with personal values.

Motivational Interviewing

A collaborative, goal-oriented approach that helps strengthen motivation and commitment to change, particularly when clients feel ambivalent or stuck.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT focuses on adult relationships and attachment patterns. It helps individuals understand emotional responses and build more secure, trusting, and connected relationships.

Therapy provides a supportive space to understand yourself, develop new skills, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
